Omnisend Pricing Explained: Plans, Costs and What Ecommerce Brands Actually Pay in 2026

Omnisend currently has three main plan levels. The Free plan costs $0 and lets you send up to 500 emails per month to a maximum of 250 unique contacts. Standard starts at $16 per month and gives you a monthly email allowance equal to 12 times your billable contact count. Pro starts at $59 per month, includes unlimited email sends and push notifications, and gives access to additional personalization and SMS functionality.

But the most important thing to understand about Omnisend pricing is this: your subscriber count and your billable contact count can be different.

Omnisend can bill for both subscribers and certain non-subscribers who receive automated or order-related messaging. So before judging whether Omnisend is cheap or expensive, understand what is actually being counted.

How the Standard Send Limit Actually Works

Standard includes monthly email credits equal to billable contacts multiplied by 12. So:

  • 1,000 billable contacts gives approximately 12,000 email sends;
  • 5,000 gives approximately 60,000;
  • 10,000 gives approximately 120,000;
  • 50,000 gives approximately 600,000.

That can be plenty. Or it can be restrictive.

Imagine a 10,000-contact account. The Standard plan gives roughly 120,000 sends. If you send four campaigns every week to most of the active audience, you can use a large part of that allowance before flows are even included.

That is why the cheaper plan is not automatically the cheaper plan for your strategy.

Always price an ESP around how you actually send, not just how many contacts you have.

Omnisend Pro Pricing

Pro starts at $59 per month. At common list sizes, current public pricing is approximately:

Billable contactsPro plan
Up to 2,500$59/mo
5,000$90/mo
10,000$150/mo
20,000$375/mo
40,000$599/mo
50,000$715/mo
75,000$1,044/mo
100,000$1,344/mo

Pro is primarily interesting when:

  • email sending volume is high;
  • unlimited email sends matter;
  • the brand wants SMS;
  • advanced personalization matters;
  • additional AI-driven features are useful;
  • the operational difference versus Standard justifies the premium.

At some contact tiers the gap between Standard and Pro is small. At others it becomes much larger. Do not assume Pro is automatically the right choice because the brand is large.

The Most Important Detail: Billable Contacts

Omnisend does not only count obvious newsletter subscribers. Its current billing model can include:

  • email subscribers;
  • SMS subscribers;
  • push subscribers;
  • customers who purchased without opting into marketing;
  • abandoned-cart contacts;
  • people who browsed and became identifiable;
  • imported contacts without a recorded opt-in date;
  • other non-subscribers who can receive eligible automated messages.

Non-subscribers cannot necessarily receive normal marketing campaigns. But they can still be billable, because Omnisend can use the profile for behavioral or order-related automation.

Your Omnisend billable-contact count may be higher than your visible email-subscriber count.

That catches brands off guard.

Does Omnisend Automatically Increase Your Plan?

Yes. Omnisend says its billing tier adjusts each billing cycle based on the billable-contact count. If the audience grows, the monthly cost can grow with it.

That is why we would monitor total billable contacts inside the Audience view instead of only watching the number of email subscribers.

Omnisend Free Plan

The Free plan is useful for testing the platform. You can:

  • upload contacts;
  • build campaigns;
  • build automations;
  • explore segmentation;
  • use forms;
  • test the general workflow.

But sending is capped at 500 emails per month and a maximum of 250 unique contacts reached. You can upload more than 250 contacts, but you cannot simply email the entire uploaded database on the Free plan.

For a real established ecommerce brand, this is a testing tier rather than an operating tier.

Standard vs Pro: Which One Should an Ecommerce Brand Choose?

Our framework would be simple.

Choose Standard When

  • email is the primary channel;
  • your sending volume comfortably fits inside the 12x limit;
  • you do not need the Pro-only personalization capabilities;
  • you do not need SMS in a new 2026 account;
  • the price difference is meaningful.

Choose Pro When

  • the brand sends high email volume;
  • unlimited email sends reduce operational friction;
  • SMS is part of the strategy;
  • personalized product and content features matter;
  • the Pro price is close enough to Standard at your tier to make the additional capacity worthwhile.

Do the math using your actual last 90 days, not a hypothetical future strategy.

Omnisend SMS Pricing Changed in 2026

This is important, because a lot of older Omnisend pricing articles are now outdated. For new paid subscriptions created on or after May 4, 2026:

  • SMS is not available on Free;
  • SMS is not available on Standard;
  • SMS is available through Pro;
  • SMS is purchased separately as a volume-based add-on;
  • US and Canadian rates currently start from $0.007 per SMS at entry pricing;
  • the per-message rate can decrease at higher volume tiers.

Every Pro subscription does not automatically include SMS credits. That applies to legacy accounts created under the earlier model. Current new accounts buy SMS separately, so check the current SMS pricing before budgeting a program.

What About Existing Omnisend Customers?

Legacy accounts can work differently. Customers who subscribed to paid plans before May 4, 2026 can retain the old SMS structure while they remain eligible. For example, some older Pro accounts continue to receive SMS credits linked to the value of their subscription.

If that account cancels or moves off the legacy structure, the new pricing rules may apply when it returns. So if you have an older Omnisend account:

Do not change plans without checking whether you are giving up legacy pricing.

Omnisend's 30% Starter Discount

New customers can currently receive a 30% discount for their first three months when paying those three months upfront. For example:

  • Standard's $16 starting price becomes $11.20 during the introductory period;
  • Pro's $59 starting price becomes $41.30.

But that is not the long-term monthly price. After the introductory period, the account returns to normal billing. When budgeting software, use the ongoing price, not the temporary acquisition offer.

How to Reduce an Omnisend Bill

There are three things we would inspect.

1. Billable contacts
Check whether the account is carrying a large number of profiles that no longer provide meaningful value.
2. Inactive subscribers
Long-term inactive contacts may be candidates for re-engagement and eventual removal from your marketable audience. As with Klaviyo, do not remove useful customer data blindly just to hit a cheaper tier.
3. Your actual send volume
If you pay for Pro but your send volume comfortably fits inside Standard and you do not use the additional features, compare the real cost. If you are constantly hitting Standard's 12x allowance, the opposite may be true.

Is Omnisend Cheaper Than Klaviyo?

At many common contact tiers, Omnisend Standard is cheaper than Klaviyo's email plan. Current public pricing shows approximately:

ContactsOmnisend StandardKlaviyo Email
1,000$20$30
5,000$81$100
10,000$132$150
20,000$265$375
50,000$413$720
100,000$900$1,380

But the cheaper column does not automatically win. Omnisend Standard has a 12x email allowance, and Klaviyo's product depth and ecosystem can be stronger for complex ecommerce operations. See the full Omnisend vs Klaviyo comparison and our Klaviyo pricing breakdown.

Your decision should include:

  • cost;
  • send volume;
  • integrations;
  • reporting;
  • lifecycle complexity;
  • segmentation needs;
  • team workflow.

Is Omnisend Good Value for Established Ecommerce Brands?

Yes, it can be. One of the mistakes in ESP comparisons is assuming Omnisend is for small brands and Klaviyo is for large ones. We do not think revenue size alone is a good way to make that decision.

A large ecommerce brand can have a relatively straightforward retention setup. A smaller subscription brand can have extremely complicated customer states and lifecycle requirements.

Omnisend becomes attractive when:

  • the required capabilities are covered;
  • the team likes the operating experience;
  • the integrations fit;
  • the cost difference is meaningful;
  • the brand is not paying for complexity it does not need.

Our Verdict

Omnisend's headline pricing is relatively straightforward. Its actual economics require more attention. The three things we would focus on are:

  1. your billable contact count;
  2. your real monthly email volume;
  3. whether Standard or Pro matches the way you actually operate.

Standard can be excellent value for email-led ecommerce brands. Pro becomes more compelling when high sending volume, advanced personalization or SMS matter.

And before choosing based on price alone, compare the platform with what your team actually needs to do every week.
