SabersPro Case Study

How SabersPro Grew Email and SMS Revenue From $544K to $817K in 6 Months

SabersPro sells lightsabers to people who take their lightsabers very seriously. Email was already bringing in real revenue when we started, so nothing needed rescuing. We set out to build a retention setup that gets a first-time buyer to come back for an upgrade or a second saber.

The Challenge

Where SabersPro Started

In the 184 days before we started, SabersPro did about $2.39M in store revenue. Of that, $544K was attributed to email and SMS, which is 22.8% of the store. That is a solid base and the program was working. We just saw a few places with room to grow.

  • The signup forms had an average submit rate of about 3.7%
  • Most flow revenue came from a handful of older flows, and one welcome flow carried a lot of it
  • Campaigns brought in $68.9K, which is 12.7% of attributed revenue
  • SMS made about $1.8K in the whole period

The Strategy

What We Changed

More sends was never the plan. We built the forms and flows to move a subscriber from a first order to a second one, and then keep them buying.

01

New signup form

The old 10% off popup is gone. In its place is a mystery discount form that gives visitors a reason to be curious, and more of them sign up. On mobile alone it had a 9.5% submit rate.

02

New lifecycle flows

We replaced the legacy flows with a new Magicianly set and rebuilt seven of them: Welcome Series, Site Abandonment, Browse Abandonment, Cart Abandonment, Checkout Abandonment, Post-Purchase and Customer Winback. The welcome flow also got sale-specific versions for Early Access, Black Friday and Cyber Monday. The flows we built produced 86.8% of all flow revenue in the period.

03

Campaigns

Campaign revenue went up 2.4x, from a side project to a real source of revenue. The flows kept running in the background the whole time.

Campaign Revenue

In the first six months, SabersPro generated $816,971 in attributed revenue from email and SMS in Klaviyo, on $3.06M of total store revenue.

Signup forms

Across SabersPro's signup forms, the average submit rate (form submits divided by form views) went from about 3.7% to about 7.7%. A lot more of the people who see a form now join the list.

Share of the store

Attributed revenue grew 50.3% while total store revenue grew 28.5%, so email and SMS went from 22.8% to 26.7% of the store. We also looked at a quieter stretch that is easier to compare, the first 3 months (Aug 21 to Nov 20, 2025) against the 3 months before. Store revenue was roughly flat, down 2.3%. Email revenue was up 22.5% and its share of the store went from 25.7% to 32.2%.

Flows and campaigns

Flow revenue grew about 37% to $652K. The new welcome flows earned $411.9K, against $329.1K for the old welcome flow, and they did it on 16% fewer welcome sends. Campaign revenue grew about 139% to $165K.

The Bigger Lesson

What We Learned

Email was already working at SabersPro, so this was never a turnaround. The growth came from rebuilding the system around it. A program that works can still have a lot left in it.

We put the effort into better forms and better flows instead of more sends. When the season changes, we also look at share of store revenue before raw revenue, because it is a fairer way to compare.
